COLD LAKE - The Cold Lake Chamber of Commerce is gearing up for its annual "Feast on the Beach" event, set to take place on Aug. 30 and 31 at Kinosoo Beach. This vibrant festival, now in its fourth year, promises a weekend filled with great music, delicious food, and family-friendly entertainment.

"We wanted to do an event to kind of give back to the community and all the people and patrons that support our local businesses. So that was the general thought behind it," Ryan Lefebvre, president of the Cold Lake Chamber of Commerce, shared.

Kinosoo Beach, a picturesque location, has been the chosen venue since the event's inception. "We have a great spot to do it at Kinosoo Beach. So that was kind of our rationale behind it. We did our first year in 2019, and then, of course, we had to stop. So, we picked it up again a couple of years ago. We've done 2022, 2023, and then now this one here, 2024, so this will be our fourth," Lefebvre added.

The two-day festival offers a diverse lineup of entertainment and food options. "It's an awesome time. We've had great weather previously. It's two days, which is nice. There's music going pretty much the entire time, and it's free, which is really the best part. There's no admission or anything - just come down to the beach and hang out," Lefebvre encouraged.

Attendees can expect a variety of food trucks and live performances. "Great entertainers, lots of food trucks. I think there's 10 or 11 food trucks this year," Lefebvre said, listing some of the highlights. "We have mini donuts, hot dogs, tacos, poutine. Ice cream, of course, so you know, lots of variation on types of cuisine. And we have a great lineup."

Music enthusiasts can look forward to performances by Travis Dolter and the Irish Descendants at the upcoming event. Dolter, a regular at Feast on the Beach, will be performing again, while the Irish Descendants will close out the first night with their lively Irish and Celtic tunes. On Saturday, the event runs from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m., featuring the Three Hat Circus, a kids' entertainment act with both stage performances and roaming acts throughout the beach.

Saturday night will feature alternative music, followed by Aaron Goodvin as the final act. "Bring your lawn chairs, come hang out. There's the beer gardens as well. It’s a chance to get people down there. It's kind of a last summer party,—kind of an opportunity to celebrate the end of summer," Lefebvre said.

Lefebvre said the celebration is aimed at giving back to the community, particularly those who support local businesses. The event is organized as a way to show appreciation for their continued patronage.

As the summer winds down, Lefebvre emphasized the importance of community events like this. "We're very lucky. Cold Lake does have a lot going on during the summer, so typically, every weekend, there's usually something. It's good to get everybody together. It's a fun, great atmosphere. We're looking forward to it," he concluded.
