COLD LAKE - The former Cold Lake Lodge was demolished last week. The building has been vacant for about three years and was located behind the building constructed to replace it. The land is expected to be reclaimed by September and will be turned into green space for the time being.
In April, Chris Vining, who is the chair of the Lakeland Lodge and Housing Foundation and is also a city councillor, told Lakeland This Week, “A lot of different options were kicked around, a lot of different groups looked at the building to see if it could fit their needs but at the end of the day, with the age of the building and the refurbishing that would have to happen in order to repurpose that building, just made it unfeasible.”
