COLD LAKE - A Cold Lake man has been charged following an investigation that began after RCMP received a complaint of a suspicious vehicle parked along the shoulder of Highway 659.
On June 29, Cold Lake RCMP responded to the complaint. The vehicle was parked on the wrong side of the highway, and pedestrians were reportedly walking away from the vehicle.
"While on scene with the vehicle, it was discovered that the vehicle was stolen out of Bonnyville," according to information from RCMP. "Cold Lake RCMP officers did a search of the area and located the individuals matching the description of the occupants of the stolen vehicle."
Police also located 108.66 grams of methamphetamine and $350 in cash was located on one of the individuals.
Logan Winegarden, 26, a resident of Cold Lake, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000 operating a motor vehicle while prohibited, and possession for the purpose of trafficking.
