Residents of CFB Cold Lake told to shelter in place Monday morning

COLD LAKE - RCMP from Cold Lake and Bonnyville are "tracking a reportedly armed suspect in the area of CFB Cold lake," according to information released just before 8 a.m. on Monday morning. 

While police search for the suspect, they are issuing a shelter in place for residents who reside north of Kingsway, west of 62nd Street, south of Township Road 632 and east of Range Road 424.

The area includes the Cold Lake Golf and Winter Club. 

"Residents within this area are asked to stay in your homes, lock your doors, and call 911 if you see anything suspicious. Individuals outside of this zone are asked to avoid the area," according to RCMP.

The suspect is described as having a light complexion, being six feet tall and was reportedly wearing a black hat, black jacket, white and black stripped shirt and jeans.

The City of Cold Lake has announced the Golf and Winter Club will be closed for the rest of the day.
