COLD LAKE - A tip about a stolen vehicle led Cold Lake RCMP to a residence on Cold Lake First Nations, resulting in the recovery of three stolen vehicles, the seizure of numerous firearms and the arrest of three individuals on Sept. 1.

Cold Lake RCMP report one of the stolen vehicles contained a loaded shotgun along with ammunition.

RCMP determined the suspects were inside the home and, with the assistance of Cold Lake Police Dog Service and the Emergency Response Team, arrests of three people were made without incident, according to a media release.

While inside the home, officers observed firearms in plain sight. A search warrant was enacted resulting in the recovery of “numerous firearms prohibited and non-restricted, ammunition and firearm magazines.”

All three people were remanded into custody following appearances before a justice of the peace.

Klody Cardinal,19, Matthew Francois, 31, and Shayleen Moyah, 25, are all facing counts of resist/obstruct a peace officer, possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, and several illegal possession of firearms charges.

The accused will be in court in Cold Lake on Sept. 11.
