COLD LAKE - A water quality advisory that had been issued on Aug. 8 for Kinosoo Beach on Cold Lake has been lifted as of Aug. 27.

"Water quality has returned to an acceptable level and the health risk is low for usage of the beach for recreational purposes," reads a release from Alberta Health Services.

The advisory had been put on the water at the beach after AHS detected elevated levels of fecal bacteria in the water. The advisory that had been issued on Aug. 8 advised the public against swimming or wading at the beach due to potential health risks.

"As always, visitors and residents are reminded to never drink or cook with untreated water directly from any lake or reservoir, at any time," reads the most recent update from AHS.
