J. A. Williams High School 2020 graduate Jade Thom was out for a drive with her mom on Sunday when they spotted her grad banner hanging with about 100 others along Lac La Biche's Beaver Hill Road. Jade was happy to pose with her banner for Lakeland Today readers. The banner project, which cost about $9,000 was split between schools, parent grad councils  and Lac La Biche County.

Banners will be waving in the wind along main streets in Lac La Biche and Plamondon for the next month.

Thom and her classmates were left without an official graduation celebration due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic restrictions.

On June 26, J. A. Williams High School staff plan to hold a virtual graduation ceremony, accompanied by a short vehicle procession through the community.  To see all of the graduates from the Lac La Biche and Plamondon areas, see Tuesday's Lakeland This Week for a pull-out section. We'll also have a pdf version of the section available on the website. See more photos on the Lac La Biche POST Instagram page

* This item was updated on June 15 to clarify the support of high school grad parent councils.
