Family Day in Lac La Biche County was a busy and active one for hundreds of families.
An afternoon of fun (and free) indoor and outdoor activities, delicious food and sweets, and musical entertainment awaited those who came to the Bold Centre on Monday for the provincial holiday celebrations. The event was held from 12-3 p.m.
Those who attended Family Day participated in games (including a scavenger hunt), family crafts, went on wagon rides, and enjoyed a chili meal along with tasty cinnamon buns and hot chocolate served by members of New Life Victory Church in Lac La Biche.
This year’s family day celebration also featured free musical entertainment by the Plamondon-based trio Girlz with Guitarz, who played on the stage inside the Bold Centre Community Hall. There was also an educational component whereby people were given the opportunity to learn about Indigenous culture, including the teachings of the medicine wheel, as well as a relay.
Family Day is put on by Lac La Biche County FCSS with the help of various community organizations.
