Fire officials to assist with new office occupancy limits

Calculating occupancy numbers made easier by local fire services

Lac La Biche County Fire Services staff are taking the math out of the equation for any business owners not sure about new provincial occupancy limits.

As of December 13, due to rising COVID-19 cases across the province, businesses are restricted in occupancy to just 15 per cent of their maximum occupancy. For some residents, the new measures create a few questions – which the municipal Fire Services department can help with.

Protective Services officials are encouraging any business owner not familiar with their occupancy limits to fill out a form available on the county's website. The form will allow municipal officials to calculate the 15 per cent maximum.

The new, restrictive occupancy levels are in place until COVID numbers drop below threshold numbers that have placed most Alberta communities — including Lac La Biche County — under enhanced pandemic measures.
