Lac La Biche County Mayor Omer Moghrabi knows the past year has been a challenge — but he credits community members for pushing forward.
"It was a tough year for Lac La Biche County. Between the pandemic and spring floods, our community has been challenged in new ways. But, I’m proud to say that we’ve shown we’re adaptable and resilient," said the mayor in a year-end statement and new year wish for the community.
On behalf of the municipal council, Moghrabi said the municipal forecast going into the new year is favourable.
"We continued to meet our goals, and our 2021 budget lays a rock solid foundation for Lac La Biche County to continue building upon," he said.
Moving on and learning from a year that has brought the challenges of a pandemic and flooding, but also created the opportunities of continued infrastructure growth, recreation potential and economic development, the mayor and council, county staff and community members are ready to face the new year head-on, says Moghrabi.
"County Council’s wish for our community is that we continue along the path we’re on, planning for future successes while knowing that we can weather whatever surprises are in store for us together," he said.
