Police are looking for a man suspected of robbing the Pelican Hotel in Plamondon at gunpoint.
On Saturday, July 19 at around 11:30 a.m., Lac La Biche RCMP responded to a complaint of armed robbery at the hotel. According to the RCMP, officers were told that a man in possession of what appeared to be a black handgun had demanded money from a female staff member in the hotel office.
RCMP say that the staff member followed the suspect's direction and placed an undisclosed amount of cash in a bag she had received from the suspect. According to police, she was then bound to a chair, and the suspect stole the staff member's vehicle and escaped.
Police have recovered the vehicle. The suspect is described as being a 6-foot-tall middle age male of medium to large build with blue coveralls, a white long-sleeved t-shirt, black gloves, a baseball hat and is believed to have been wearing a mask to alter his appearance.
