LAKELAND - The Portage College Voyageurs hosted men’s and women’s college futsal squads from northern Alberta for the 2025 Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference (ACAC) Futsal North Regional 1. The competition was held over the Jan. 17-19 weekend at Lac La Biche’s Bold Center.
The participating teams - Northwest Polytechnique Wolves, the Kings University Eagles, Lakeland College Rustlers, Keyano College Huskies, NAIT OOKs and the Portage College Voyageurs - played each other throughout the weekend competition in both men's and women's categories.
The semifinals and finals took place on Sunday.
The North Regional 1 will be followed by the second regional qualifier, which is set to take place over the Feb. 21 weekend in Grande Prairie, and is being put on by Northwestern Polytechnic. During the ACAC futsal championships, which will be hosted by Lakeland College in Lloydminster over the March 7 weekend, the top three futsal squads from the northern qualifiers will go up against the top southern Alberta teams.
