LAC LA BICHE - Halloween only comes around once a year and late in the afternoon of Oct. 31 and into the evening, children and teens in the Lac La Biche area dressed up in costumes and went out under cool, grey skies in search of sugary candy and other treats.
Large groups of kids and their parents walked up and down main street, including the recently reopened section of Main Street from 101st Street to 102nd Street, going door-to-door to local businesses, who greeted the costumed visitors with smiles and generous amounts of Halloween candy.
The trick-or-treaters wore a variety of hilarious, interesting and downright unique costumes representing not only well-known horror film monsters but also dinosaurs, ninjas, popular TV and movie characters, cowboys, with two siblings - even going out as a vending machine and a deer head mounted on a fireplace.
While candy is certainly a popular food item on Halloween, those who were looking for something to warm them up after being out in the cold could head on down to McArthur Park where members of Lac La Biche County Fire Rescue Services were cooking free hot dogs from 4-6 p.m.
