Alberta Emergency Alert announced this morning that a province-wide alert will be going out to Albertan phones next Wednesday, May 8 at 11:55 am.
"The Government of Canada will conduct this test in Alberta and other participating jurisdictions," reads a post to X by the Alberta Emergency Alert account. "Regular testing of the alerting system is necessary to ensure we're prepared to deliver lifesaving instructions to Albertans during emergencies."
Alberta Emergency Alert added that anyone interested in finding out if their phones are compatible with the alert system, and will be receiving the practise alert next week, can check by visiting alertready.ca.
