ST. PAUL - While the County of St. Paul municipal region is showing one active COVID-19 case on the provincial map, the "local geographic region" deemed as St. Paul on the Alberta Health Services map is showing zero.

The interactive geographic map on the provincial website allows the map to be viewed by "municipality" or by "local geographic area."

When using the geographic area to view the map, "Cold Lake" shows one active case, "Frog Lake" shows one active case, and "Vermilion River County" has five active cases. The "St. Paul" region shows zero active cases under this option.

To the west, Smoky Lake County is now showing nine active cases.

When looking at the "municipality" option, Cold Lake, Bonnyville and Lac La Biche were all showing zero active cases, as of Monday afternoon. Two Hills County is also showing zero active cases.

Farther south, the MD of Wainwright is showing 46 active cases of the virus.

On Monday afternoon, the province reported 257 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday, along with five more deaths in the same three-day period.

*Later in the week, AHS confirmed it would be renaming some of the regions on the map, to make it clear that it is regional data being show, and not cases specific to one community.
