BONNYVILLE - Among traditional door-to-door tricker treating, several family-friendly events took place throughout the Town of Bonnyville on Halloween.
Beginning at 3 p.m. on Oct. 31, the Bonnyville RCMP detachment hosted a Safe Halloween Program where costumed youth received a bright pumpkin basket fill with goodies.
Kids arrived for the candy, but stayed to for the police dogs Odie and Romeo, who were dressed as there favourite Ty toys.
Also handing out tasty treats at the RCMP Safe Halloween Program were volunteer firefighters from the Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority and members from the Bonnyville EMS.
Throughout the community and along the busy 43 Ave., players from the Bonnyville Pontiacs were on hand to help kids and families cross the busy intersections from 3 p.m. until after dark at 7 p.m.
Located at the Bonnyville Baptist Church parking lot were also several youth activities hosted by various community organizations. The parking lot was a bustling hive of activity as families stopped in before continue on their trick-or-treating routes.
As the sun went down the Bonnyville Legion transformed into a spooky and haunted church. Those who were brave enough to enter got a frightful surprise from inside a creepy coffin.
