Hot weekend ahead for the Lakeland

An unseasonably hot weekend is expected across the Lakeland.

LAKELAND - The mornings may feel like fall lately, but the days still feel like summer with temperatures reaching the high 20s - and even expected to reach 30C this weekend.

The forecast for Cold Lake/CFB Cold Lake, according to Environment Canada, was 31C for Sept. 6, 29C for Saturday and 30C for Sunday. Monday would be more of the same, with a temperature of 29C expected. 

On Tuesday, temperatures could dip slightly, but are still expected to be in the high and mid-teens during the day for several days.

The forecasts for the Lac La Biche and St. Paul regions, according to Environment Canada were the same, as of Friday afternoon.

The hot spot in all of Canada was located in Alberta on Friday, with Fincastle, a community located east of Taber, reaching 30.8C Friday afternoon.
