COLD LAKE - Traffic is flowing freely along Hwy. 28 as of early this morning.
Emergency crews were on scene at a grass fire along Hwy. 28 across from the Petro Canada Gas Station late yesterday afternoon and into the early hours of the morning.
Cold Lake First Nations reported around 10 p.m. the fire had been contained and was being monitored overnight.
Vehicles were being diverted south of the city due to the fire and no traffic is flowing between Mission Rd. and Hwy. 55 east on Hwy. 28. However, as of 1 a.m. Sunday, the highway had once again been open.
Updates will be made as more information becomes available.
