SADDLE LAKE - A man sustained life-threatening injuries following a shooting in Saddle Lake on Sept. 7 that also resulted in two people facing a number of charges.
At about 1:30 a.m., St. Paul RCMP responded to a report of an adult male that had been shot in Saddle Lake.
"Police arrived at a residence and located an adult male victim outside on the driveway with a gun shot wound," according to RCMP. "The victim was transported to hospital by EMS and then to Edmonton due to serious life-threatening injuries sustained."
Tyson Hunter, 47, of Saddle Lake Cree Nation was charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose; unauthorized possession of a firearm (x3); careless use of a firearm; possession of property obtained by crime; and possession of a weapon contrary to order (x2).
Jerilee Halfe, 35, also of Saddle Lake, was charged with discharge firearm with intent; using firearm in the commission of an offence; unauthorized possession of a firearm; careless use of a firearm; and pointing a firearm.
Both accused were remanded into custody and will be appearing in St. Paul Provincial Court on Sept. 17.
