Background

Cold Lake RCMP and RCMP Major Crimes Unit began investigating after an adult male was found dead at the Petro Canada Gas Station on Highway 28 in Cold Lake.

On Aug. 9, at about 1 a.m., RCMP were dispatched to a report that a male had been shot in the parking lot of the Petro Canada. Four suspects left the area and police have been looking for a stolen 2018 black Nissan Murano bearing Alberta licence plate BRW 5433, which was last seen on the Cold Lake First Nations.

An autopsy has been scheduled for Aug. 13, at the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Edmonton.
