LAKELAND - Vermilion RCMP are hoping to gather information regarding damage done to a number of headstones at the Clandonald Catholic Cemetery sometime between May 21 and 25.
On May 25, Vermilion RCMP received a call that the Clandonald Catholic Cemetery had been vandalized.
"Cemetery management located 39 headstones pushed over, along with many other headstones disrupted," according to RCMP. "Some of the damaged headstones belong to deceased persons who no longer have family."
The damages inflicted to those headstones will only be able to be repaired with donations that are sometimes received by the cemetery.
RCMP believe that the damages likely occurred sometime over the long weekend.
