ST. PAUL - Residents with operating surveillance cameras are being asked to take part in a new initiative with St. Paul RCMP, in a bid to solve crimes happening in the community.

"Willing participants are asked to provide information regarding their address and contact information with the St. Paul RCMP," according to RCMP. "This information will be kept in a secure data system and used only for the purposes of tracking availability of video cameras."

If a crime takes place near a person's residence or business and they are on the list, they may be contacted by St. Paul RCMP to provide video footage to help with an investigation.

"We all play a part in keeping our communities safe," said Cst. Adam Figgens.

For further information about the initiative and to participate, contact Figgens by email at [email protected] or by phone at (780) 645-8870.

Cst. Joe Gervais, also with St. Paul RCMP, can be reached at [email protected] or by phone at (780) 645-8870.
