Every year, the St. Paul Fire Department chooses a member for its Firefighter of the Year Award, and this year the recipient is Lieutenant Chris Schuh.

“Chris is very well respected within our department. He is meticulous in everything that he does and is a valued member of the team,” said Fire Chief Trevor Kotowich.

This award is voted on by members of the St. Paul Fire Department, and is given out at the annual Town of St. Paul staff Christmas Party in December.

Schuh joined the St. Paul department on Jan. 1 2010.

According to the department’s policy manual, to receive the award, “the candidate must demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to firefighting and the department. This can be evidenced by outstanding actions on the fire ground or at other functions the department is involved in.”
