ST. PAUL – After the Wainwright Bisons kept the St. Paul Canadiens off the scoreboard in a 5-0 contest in Game 2 of the 2025 North Eastern Alberta Jr. B Hockey League playoffs, the Canadiens took the lead back with a victory in Game 3, winning 3-1 on home ice.
On March 4, the series shifted to Canadiens' territory at the Clancy Richard Arena.
Just four minutes into the first period, Damian Langevin-Whitford of the Canadiens scored the first goal, assisted by Kolby Miller. Kelton McAuley, with an assist from Jayce Lessard, scored the Canadiens' second goal with about six minutes left on the clock in the first.
In an attempt to even the odds, the Bison's Mason Ganser scored one for the away team, ending the period 2-1.
While neither team scored during the second period, the game fired up, with seven penalties given, compared to only two penalties in the first period.
This intensity only continued in the final period, where 13 penalties were handed out, as both teams tried to outscore the other. Halfway into the final period, Lessard, assisted by McAuley and Jacob Jean, scored the Canadiens' third goal.
While the Bison's tried to catch up, the Canadiens held on to secure the win, which also now guarantees a Game 5 in the series.
Game 4 will take place on March 7 at the Clancy Richard Arena. The Canadiens will be back on the road again to play in Wainwright on March 8 for Game 5.
