According to RCMP, incidents have included deer strikes, two-vehicle collisions, and vehicles sliding in to the ditch.

“When there is ice or snow on the road, if there is snow falling and visibility is not great, make sure you have your headlights on and slow down,” said Kellieka Formanek, a public relations officer with the St. Paul RCMP.

She noted speed limits are meant for ideal conditions when roads are clear, adding, "It is ok to go slower when the roads are snowy and icy.”
