Water under — and on — the Beaver River bridge near Bonnyville

Rainy day bridge cleaning north of Bonnyville

Traffic north of Bonnyville was disrupted through the lunch hour on Thursday as Emcon highway maintenance crews were washing the Beaver River Bridge on Highway 41 about 10 kilometres from the town.

Using high pressure hoses, helped by a steady rainfall while they were working, crews blasted away dirt and debris from the roadway that crosses the Beaver River.

The cleaning that took part during a day of rain and storms, is part of the regular maintenance schedule. Traffic was reduced to one-lane only during the lunch hour project.
