COLD LAKE - On Oct. 4, 650 students from the Lakeland Schools Athletic Association (LSAA) took part in the 2023 cross country district run at the Cold Lake Provincial Park.
From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., students in various categories hit the trails to compete in the fall event. A long list of schools from across the LSAA region took part in the event. The students, who were in Grade 5 to 9, ran different lengths with the youngest athletes running 1,500 metres and the oldest students running 2.5 km.
The top 10 finishers in each age category each won a ribbon, and everyone's times were recorded as they crossed the finish line. Many parents and teachers stood near the finish line, cheering the runners on.
