ST. PAUL - The Central Canada Cup kicked off in St. Paul on Wednesday night, with the hometown Canadiens grabbing their first win of the tournament 6-3 against the OCN Storm from Opaskwayak Cree Nation, Manitoba.
The Central Canada Cup showcases Jr. B level hockey teams from across Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and Ontario.
The Canadiens have had a strong showing at this year's five-team tournament.
The Canadiens won 4-0 on Thursday against the Current River Storm, who travelled to St. Paul from Ontario.
On Friday, The Canadiens took on the Saskatoon Royals, and in a close match lost 6-5.
The Canadiens hit the ice again later in the day at the Clancy Richard Arena, taking on the Wetaskiwin Iceman. That game ended in a 3-3 tie.
The Current River Storm and Icemen hit the ice at 2:30 p.m. on April 19 for the first semi-final game.
The Canadiens will have a rematch against the Royals Saturday night for their semi-final game. The puck is set to drop at 7 p.m. at the Clancy Richard Arena.

Sunday finals
Sunday's finals are scheduled for 11 a.m., which will see who takes home the bronze medals. At 3 p.m., the first and second place teams will hit the ice to determine this year's Central Canada Cup champion.
