CARMICHAEL, Violet Margaret

Violet Margaret Carmichael (LeMay)

It is with great sadness and sorrow, we share that on Monday, December 23, 2024, Violet Margaret Carmichael (LeMay) left us peacefully at the age of 94. Violet was born on October 3, 1930, in Lac la Biche, Alberta to parents Joseph and Ann (Aune) LeMay.

Violet’s travels took her to many parts of the world, including China, the USA, the Maritimes, B.C., Alberta, Mexico, Cuba, Quebec, Alaska, and Europe.  Violet was a lifelong learner and spoke English, Finnish, Cantonese and Mandarin.  Those who knew Violet will remember her for her hospitality, kindness, generosity, quick wit and her incredible ability to capture any given moment in a sketch. We so enjoyed Moms Blueberry pies and Finnish “Pulla” buns, a must for every gathering.  Violet loved to live in the moment. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her, and her impact on our lives will never be forgotten.

Violet is predeceased by her husband Bill Carmichael (Bear), survived by her four children,  Gary (Annette) Carmichael, Kenny (Laura) Carmichael, Leslie (Peter) Bradley and Dawn Mann, her grandchildren, Kim (Jace), Paul (Jenny), Tony (Robyn) , Miranda (Mike), Brian (Jessica), Darcy (Ashley), Dylan (Zoe) , Carly, Shannon and Hailey (Josh), and her Great Grandchildren, Keihle, Sofia, Kinsley, Greyson, Bentley, Brody, Rylan, Leland, Nya, Vincent, Brayden, Chloe and Jake.  Violet is survived by siblings, Vivian, Cheryl, Iris, Eileen, Lewis and many nieces and nephews. Violet was predeceased by siblings, Bernice, Irene, Evelyn, Doreen, Leonard and Lawrence.

Our family would like to extend a special thank you to everyone who was a part of Moms remarkable life.

A celebration of Violets’ life will be held in Edmonton June 21st, and in Burnaby August 24th.
