On January 4, 2021, Mr. Joseph “Joey” Duperron of Upper Mann Lake passed away at the age of 68 years.
He is survived by his loving children, Jenny Bespalko (Roger), Jeff & Joey Jr.; 5 grandchildren, Samantha, Jessica, Mackenzie, Casey & Taylor; mother, Louise; 3 brothers, Bernie, Camille & Robert; sister, Marguerite. Joey was predeceased by his father, Edmond.
Joey Sr. was a loving father, grandfather and friend to anyone he encountered. An avid motor-sports enthusiast, he was always either working on, watching, or talking about race cars, or anything with an engine for that matter. Joey was known as Driver 66, and a reliable mechanic who knew his way around any engine. He also enjoyed driving around in his truck to his usual destinations, spending time playing cards or horse-race with his family, or taking the grandkids on a trip to the Ashmont store. Always joking around, Joey could put a smile on anyone’s face. He gave the best advice to his family members who carried on his racing legacy.
