On September 5, 2021, Mr. Adam Smereka of Elk Point
passed away at the age of 87 years. He is survived by
his loving wife of 57 years, Peggy; daughter, Denise
(Colin) Bjorkman; son, Tim (Misty); 4 grandchildren,
Rhianna Bjorkman, Avery, Hadley & Evett Smereka;
brothers, Paul (Jean) & Ken (Gladys); sisters, Lydia Audette,
Lucy Hladchuk, Verna Filewich & Rose Siemers; brothersin-
law, Eddie (Joanne) Bespalko & Robert (Bev Bespalko);
sister-in-law, Bertha (Al) Robbins; numerous nieces,
nephews & extended family. Mr. Smereka was predeceased
by his parents, John & Mona; mother- & father-in-law,
John & Mary Bespalko; brother, David; daughter-in-law,
Connie; brothers-in-law, Ludwig Siemers, Harry Filewich
& Oscar Audette. A Prayer Service was held on Friday,
September 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Grace Gardens Funeral
Chapel, St. Paul. Those wishing to view the Prayer Service

website. A Funeral Service was held on Saturday, September
11 at 11:00 a.m. at Allied Arts Centre, Elk Point. Reverend
Father Andrij Nykyforuk officiated with interment in St.
Mary’s Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Angle Lake. If desired,
