On May 7, 2020, Mrs. Mary Tchir of Vilna passed away at the age of 89 years.
She is survived by 5 daughters & 2 sons, Lillian (David) Kaminesky of Edmonton, Bernard Tchir (Barb Charlton) of Ardrossan, Jayne Tchir of Edmonton, Gerald “Jerry” (Karen) Tchir of Vilna, Veronica (Carl) Tatarin of Vilna, Mary Ann (Gary) Suvak of St. Paul & Eleanor Meronyk (Joe Mielke) of St. Albert; daughter-in-law, Anna Tchir of Fort Saskatchewan; 15 grandchildren, Tanya (Nelson), Natasha (Traveen), Joshua (Amanda), Daniel (Krista), Tracy-Ann (Mark), Cheryl (Clayton), Jared (Josie), James (Megan), Jeremy (Penny), Nicole, Kamiko (Roman), Jonathan, Desiree (Mark), Nicolas (Sarah) & Colton; 19 great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Danielle & Joshua; 3 sisters, Rose Kostura, Patricia (William) Ostapovich & Victoria (John) Kelly; 2 sisters-in-law, Eva Tchir & Rose Tchir: numerous nieces & nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Steve; infant son, Metro Roy; parents, Jacob & Annie Brodie; 2 brothers, Edward & Henry Brodie; sister, Lucille Raymond; son-in-law, Neil; grandson, Dylan; & great-grandson, Oliver.
A private funeral service will be held, with Very Reverend Father Don Bodnar officiating. Interment in Holy Eucharist Ukrainian Catholic Cemetery, Stry. If desired, donations may be made to Alberta Heart & Stroke Foundation c/o 5626 - 51 Street, St. Paul AB T0A 3A1.
