On Thursday, June 4, 2020 Walter Solowoniuk of Iron River, AB passed away in Bonnyville, AB at the age of 89 years.
Walter is lovingly survived by his six children: Don Solowoniuk of Iron River, Debra (Phil) Kossowan of Lac des Isles, SK, Barbara Berkley (Charlie Sanchez) of Beaumont, Texas, U.S.A. Sheila Auger (Charlie Hansen) of Sherwood Park, Leeanne (Louis) Bourget of Bonnyville, Michelle (Clint) Horyn of Cold Lake; eleven grandchildren: Dustin (Danielle) Girard, Shannon (Paul) Carlin, Mark (Laura) Solowoniuk, Melissa & Matthew (Michelle) Berkley, Courtney & Bailey Auger, Réjean, Gino & Nicole Bourget, Sydney Horyn; seven great grandchildren: Victoria, Sarah & Theo Carlin, Charlie & Blake Solowoniuk, Mani & Zane Girard; three sisters: Ann McKoryk of Vernon, BC, Joanelle Alden of Bonnyville, Vera (Ed) Mercier of Bonnyville; brother: Ed Solowoniuk of Bonnyville; sister-in-law: Mary Solowoniuk of Bonnyville.
Walter was predeceased by his wife: Mildred on January 3, 2010; mother: Bernice on November 7, 1978; father: John on December 29, 1978; brother: Nick; sister: Mary (William) Bellamy; son-in-law: Steve Berkley; brother-in-law: Mike McKoryk; sister-in-law: Linda Solowoniuk.
Private family funeral service, Tuesday, June 9, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Louis Roman Catholic Church, Bonnyville with Reverend Stephen Sparks officiating. Final resting place, St. John’s United Church Cemetery, Bonnyville.
