LAKELAND - Environment Canada has released another extreme cold warning, which takes in a large portion of the province and the entire Lakeland region.

The warning was put in place on Sunday afternoon, shortly after 3:30 p.m.

"A period of very cold wind chills is expected. Extremely cold wind chill values between minus 40 and minus 45 are expected to develop overnight tonight," reads the Environment Canada warning. "Wind chill values will moderate by Monday afternoon."

The warning states that "extreme cold puts everyone at risk. Risks are greater for young children, older adults, people with chronic illnesses, people working or exercising outdoors, and those without proper shelter."

The warning also recommends people watch their pets carefully in the cold weather.
