Bail hearing for St. Paul RCMP officer charged with child exploitation moved to July 9

ALERT

ST. PAUL – The bail hearing of a St. Paul RCMP officer arrested on child exploitation charges following an investigation by ALERT's Internet Child Exploitation (ICE) unit, was adjourned on July 4. 

The bail hearing was rescheduled for July 9. 

In April 2024, Evan Peacock, 33, a constable at the St. Paul RCMP detachment, was charged by ALERT with two counts of possessing, distributing, and accessing child pornography.

He was released with order conditions and was suspended with pay.

In June 2024, the Alberta RCMP’s Eastern Alberta District General Investigative Section investigated Peacock for soliciting sex with underage females online.

He was charged with one count of child luring, and another charge for failing to comply with release order conditions following the April investigation. Peacock was remanded into custody.

Peacock remains suspended with pay.
