ST. PAUL – On July 16, the County of St. Paul declared a Level 3 Fire Restriction due to high daytime temperatures.

“We are moving into another hot week with no indication of significant moisture on the horizon," said Jason Storch, director of Community Services for the County of St. Paul.

With the Level 3 Fire Restriction, open-air fires are not allowed, but safe wood campfires are allowed on private land and in campgrounds, according to information from the County.

The County will also not be issuing any new fire permits or accepting new applications. The County will contact residents with active fire permits and notify them if their permit was suspended or cancelled.

The restriction does not apply to the Town of Elk Point, the Town of St. Paul, and the Summer Village of Horseshoe Bay who can issue their own fire restrictions.
