ST. PAUL – On Aug. 22, as of 1:30 p.m., the County of St. Paul has completely lifted its fire restrictions.

“With the recent precipitation received throughout the County, decrease in air temperature, lower winds, and higher humidity levels, the fire risk has been lowered to where it is appropriate to remove restrictions," said Jason Storch, Director of Community Services.

As the County is no longer under any fire restrictions, safe wood campfires are allowed on private land and in campgrounds. A fire permit is required for any other open-air fire that are not safe wood campfire.

Residents can also apply for fire permits again. The County expects higher demand for permits as permit application was suspended for quite a few weeks, and it may take longer to approve applications.
