Francophone day camp in full swing at St. Paul ACFA

Weekly day camps for youths ages 5 to 12 hosted by ACFA Régionale de Saint-Paul are now in full swing. The camp is scheduled to run until Aug. 2.

ST. PAUL – Weekly day camps for youths ages 5 to 12 hosted by ACFA Régionale de Saint-Paul are now in full swing.

The camp is scheduled to run until Aug. 2.

The day camp aims to promote the French language and culture in a fun environment, says Sylvie Smyl, director at St. Paul ACFA.

It offers many activities to help youth develop in areas like science, crafts and art. But the kids do get the opportunity to have fun too. They get to just play with each other at the gymnasium at ACFA and visit the splash park for some water fun.

“We’ve had water balloon fights... Coke explosion with [mentos candy],” and much more, Smyl says.

The idea of the camp is to engage children, while being fun and educational. It also offers an affordable option for families over the summer to keep their kids busy.

The day camp operates daily from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday to Friday. For more information or to register for the camp, families can contact the ACFA Régionale de Saint-Paul directly.
