Man allegedly seen with firearm along highway arrested by St. Paul RCMP

ST. PAUL - Police arrested a man who allegedly had been seen with a firearm near the intersection of Range Road 103 and Highway 29, east of St. Paul.

At about 1 a.m. on Nov. 11, St. Paul RCMP received a report of "a male on the highway with a firearm."

Police responded to the call, and the suspect fled. Once police caught the suspect, it was determined that he had outstanding warrants for his arrest.

Darius Brertton, 32, of Saddle Lake, was arrested on outstanding warrants, and charged with failing to comply with a release order conditions and resisting/obstructing a peace officer.

Following a judicial hearing, Brertton was remanded into custody, and was set to appear in the St. Paul Court of Justice on Nov. 14.
