ST. PAUL - Despite temperatures that dipped to below minus 30 degrees over the Family Day long weekend, organizers went ahead with some Shiver Fest activities in St. Paul - although most of the fun was kept indoors.

According to St. Paul Regional FCSS programmer Melanie Joly, 65 people stopped by Reunion Station to take in some Family Day fun on Feb .17, and over 100 people braved the weather and headed to the A.G. Ross Arena in Elk Point to take in festivities there.

Several outdoor events were cancelled in St. Paul due to the cold weather that blanketed much of the province for several days.

The St. Paul Ag Society, for example, has rescheduled its skijoring event to March 2.

The Alphonse Tremblay Memorial ice fishing derby set to take place at the St. Paul Fishpond on Feb. 17 was cancelled due to the cold.
