ST. PAUL - After two days of curling, students from Racette Jr. High School and St. Paul Regional High School would claim this year's St. Paul Athletics Association banners.

The competition began on Jan. 29, with junior high students hitting the ice during the day, and high school students in the evening. The event continued on throughout the day on Thursday.

While there were no boys' teams competing at this year's junior high SPAA championship, there were several mixed teams entered, and some girls' teams.

In both categories, Racette Jr. High would win the SPAA banners.

On the men's side, silver went to the Mallaig team, and in the mixed category, New Myrnam School came in second.

High school teams who qualified will now take part in zones on Feb. 20 and 21.
