ST. PAUL – Sean Dolan, the St. Paul Ag Society’s new president, says he is looking forward to helping the society to grow.

Former president Andre Chamberland describes Dolan as a “great, young guy that’s got some great ideas,” and it is those ideas that could potentially help the organization grow.

Elected as the new president in December, Dolan feels “a little bit nervous and excited at the same time,” he said.

“But there are a lot of great people here, so I know they'll assist me in making everything smooth.”

Dolan added, “We also have a lot of great young blood coming into the organization.”

The new president wants to build on the ag society's strong foundation, which includes expansion of newer events like the organization’s Spring bull-a-rama that first kicked off in March 2024.

“I thought that was a huge success, and going forward, we’re looking to doing that again,” says Dolan. Over 950 people attended the Spring bull-a-rama in St. Paul last year.

Dolan also hopes to introduce new events to the community - going beyond only offering agricultural events.

“The Ag Society can touch a lot of parts of the town. It helps more than just specifically ag-related things.”

He adds, “I’m excited to potentially branch out a little bit,” and the aim is to bring in anything that makes the community better.

In order to grow, the organization needs ideas, according to Dolan, and he encourages others to join.

“The group is open to new people and ideas all the time,” he says. “We have monthly meetings that people are free to stop in at if they become a member.”

Membership for the Ag Society is $5 a year - “That’s it,” says Dolan.

“And you can bring your ideas forward.”
