ST. PAUL – On July 9, the truckfill stations in Mallaig and Ashmont temporarily closed due to low water levels in the reservoirs.
As of 8 a.m. on July 11, the truckfill stations are running again, says Danny Weinmeier, Utilities Supervisor with the County of St. Paul.
Coun. Dale Hedrick also reminds the public that a non-potable raw water fill station opened south of Ashmont along Range Road 111. He says he is hopeful that more people are aware about the raw water, which would be cheaper to use for cattle, for example. “The more people use the raw water truck fill, hopefully we won’t have this situation again,” says Hedrick.
Specifically, to reach the water fill station, people could travel south of Ashmont on Highway 36 to Township Road 592, before heading east to Range Road 111, then continue travelling north on Range Road 111 for about half a mile. The station is on the east side of the road.
