École Mallaig School students were immersed in French culture last week, as Hubert Landry took time to teach students how to play the spoons, and make a little wooden man jig.

Each year, as per the curriculum, the school takes a week to highlight French culture, says Karol Martin, French teacher and assistant principal in Mallaig. Usually, local musician Roger Dallaire is included in the activities, but because of his busy schedule, he will visit Mallaig in March instead, says Martin.

Other events will be organized throughout the week, and Kindergarten to Grade 9 students will enjoy a fun day of skating, poutine, and sleigh rides to close out the week on Friday.
