ELK POINT - On Oct. 3, students and staff headed to the gymnasium over the noon hour for the ‘Tape a Staff Member to a Wall’ event, part of F. G. Miller High School’s Week of Welcome.

The event saw teachers Keith Dawson and Brett Lindquist giving students a hand, and lengths of duct tape, as they securely fastened teacher Kelly Sam, wearing her ‘F. G. Miller Class of 2016’ sweatshirt, and Learning Commons librarian Alycia Pollard to the gymnasium wall. While Sam was the first to hit the floor after the chairs were removed, Pollard outstayed her four competitors, and needed some extra help with extrication.

F. G. Miller High School principal Colin Bjorkman was flanked by teachers Shane Larmand and Noah Shankowski, all three still securely fastened to the gym wall by yards of duct tape after the time limit was up and the chairs that had held their weight were removed.

Bjorkman was the second staffer to descend to the floor, after Kelly Sam, with Larmand third Shankowski fourth in this crowd-pleasing event, with students not involved in the taping cheering on those who were in on the stickups.
