BONNYVILLE - Bonnyville RCMP General Investigation Section (GIS) have arrested and charged a local man with drug trafficking after catching him driving while prohibited.
Around 8 p.m. on April 15, Bonnyville GIS arrested 27-year-old Jeffrey Michael Gordon of Bonnyville after he was found to be operating a motor vehicle despite having a Canada-wide driving prohibition.
Officers located a significant quantity of suspected methamphetamine on his person, as well as items consistent with drug trafficking. Gordon was arrested without incident and a search warrant was granted for an associated vehicle.
Gordon was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance, possession of proceeds of crime, and driving while prohibited. He was released by a Justice of the Peace on conditions to appear in Bonnyville Provincial Court on July 7.
