KEHEWIN - Just before 11 p.m. on June 10, Bonnyville RCMP pulled over a vehicle, which resulted in "a large amount of drugs," being seized, along with several other items.

RCMP noticed a van driving with a missing tail light and the driver had also reportedly failed to signal when turning, which initiated the traffic stop.

"The van was pulled over and it was determined the female driver had warrants for her arrest," according to Bonnyville RCMP. "Additionally, a large amount of drugs, sufficient enough to traffic/sell, and a handgun were located in the vehicle, leading to the male passenger to also be arrested."

Stacey Moosepayo, 41, of Kehewin is charged with eight different counts, including firearms offences and possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking.

Kali Dion, 26, of Kehewin was arrested on her outstanding arrest warrant and additionally charged with possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking, six different counts of firearms offences, two counts of breaching conditions, driving while prohibited, driving an uninsured and unregistered motor vehicle and improper use of licence plate.

Both individuals were brought before a Justice of the Peace for bail hearings and both were released. They are set to appear in court on June 25.
