Easter Bunny visits Cherry Grove for pancake breakfast

CHERRY GROVE – The Cherry Grove Ag society hosted their annual Easter event, ‘Easter at the Hall’, with a pancake breakfast, Easter activities for the kids, and a guest appearance from the Easter bunny himself on April 19.

The event was held at the Cherry Grove hall, where a photobooth area was set up in the corner with a backdrop so parents could grab a photo of their kids with the Easter bunny.

Fuelled with a delicious breakfast and Easter chocolate, the Cherry Grove Hall was alive with beaming children racing around with balloons.

Marcy Huber organized the event, and helped put a lot of smiles on kids' faces while they painted an Easter craft or hugged the Easter bunny.

Cherry Grove Ag Society Vice President Shea Hatch said Huber is the imagination behind the event and acknowledged that work she put into the event.

Hatch said events like these raise a little money for operational costs of the Hall, but ultimately the events are to create opportunities for the community to come together.

“That's our objective - we're not looking to get wealthy off of these.
We just want to cover the cost of the food and the entertainment for the community. We want to have everyone come together, and we try to do that a couple times a year,” said Hatch.

The event is excellent for families, but Hatch also said it’s a great way to get out and celebrate with the community if people don’t have their own celebrations going on.

“Even if you’re not surrounded by your own, you can still come down and be surrounded by the spirit of the season,” said Hatch.
