Fire Advisory in effect for MD of Bonnyville

A fire advisory is now in effect for the MD of Bonnyville No. 87, Summer Village of Bonnyville Beach, Summer Village of Pelican Narrows and Village of Glendon as of Aug. 14.

BONNYVILLE - A fire advisory is now in effect for the MD of Bonnyville No. 87, Summer Village of Bonnyville Beach, Summer Village of Pelican Narrows and Village of Glendon as of Aug. 14.

On Wednesday, Bonnyville Regional Fire Authority released information about the fire advisory. 

"We expect this fire advisory to reduce the number of human-caused wildfires in Alberta, while allowing Albertans to enjoy outdoor activities as much as possible," reads the fire advisory.

Any burning without a valid fire permit, other than a campfire is prohibited. Fireworks and exploding targets are also prohibited.

Safe wood campfires on private and public land, including backyard firepits are allowed, along with charcoal briquette barbecues, propane/natural gas-powered appliances, open flame oil devices, catalytic or infrared-style heaters and indoor wood fires.
