Hi Energy dance recital dazzles Bonnyville

BONNYVILLE – To wrap up their season, dancers of High Energy Dance gave audiences a thrilling performance at their recital on May 10 at the GenMec ACL Hall.

It was high octane, full glamour, and a ton of fun as the kids gave it their all on stage.

A packed audience enjoyed a full line of performers with many costumes and ample attitude. Proud dance teacher Nika Boser says, “We got pretty big this year, it was pretty exciting.”

Speaking of the effect that dance and these performances have on her students, she says, “I grew up dancing - and so many of these kids I’ve been teaching for many years now - and just the way that their personality changes and their confidence grows from year to year is incredible.”

It was apparent during the performance that dancers are being taught to shine.

“They love it, and there were several of them that started out very quiet and shy. You could tell that they weren't the most comfortable or outgoing kids, and now they're some of the loudest and most talkative and confident young girls out there. It makes me so happy to see that change in them just from coming to dance two or three times a week.”

Boser also highlighted the work ethic of her students, saying it clearly paid off in their incredible show of athleticism.

Hardworking too are founders Linda and Nika Boser, who pulled off such a large show with so many students. “It is a lot, but to see them out there rocking it and enjoying it – like it’s all worth it in the end for the kids,” says Nika Boser.

A night of dance also took place in St. Paul, May 9, where students with Hi Energy 2 performed for another large audience.
